The Murphy Builders Site

I am building a hanger for my rebel but want to make sure it high enough

put a moose amphib in if I every get enough money and time. Anybody

one yet?

rudder.

But then you would also need to correct the overly optimistic M14 Moose

useful load numbers - like about 300 to 400 pounds. Of course you can
up the max gross to get it all back (in the US anyway).

Well I was going to tell WRH I had never heard of a M14 Moose with an
empty
weight under 2000 lbs - now I have. Typical is more like 2000 to 2100
though.

Oh Ted's will be over 2000 as soon as he paints it though..

flight plan 115k @ 16.5 g/hr for mine [and that's a bit optimistic].
The useful load for a Moose is somewhere very close to 1,500 lbs, of
course depending on what a builder adds to the plain kit. My empty
weight is 1990 (I think). Gross is listed as 3,500' but I hear rumors
of guys putting far more than that in theirs.
