New Pics for Elitists

Folks:

I just uploaded a few pics of mods I have done on my Elite to this
under-utilised area of the BBS. I have had time to do this because my
"to do" list on the airplane has reached the point that all I have left
to do requires parts that are "in the mail".

I don't suppose anybody has a soft copy of an Elite flight manual they'd
be willing to share?

Al Hepburn

Didn't know there was a flight manual for the Elite
Saw one for the Rebel

If you obtain one I would be very interested

By the way It must have been quite a ground loop from the look of the pics

Hi Al

Nice to see that your Elite is moving so fast (so to speak!)

If you find any copy of the Elite POH, how about posting to the archive
'cause there are a few of us that would like to snag a copy.

Tks

Dave

You're right Keith. I was wondering if anybody had gone to the trouble of
modifying the Rebel one. I'll be writing one, but it will be specific to my
configuration, which is an O-360 on Montana 2200 amphibs, with electric
flaps, so not quite standard, whatever that is!

Regards, Al.

It's been 2 1/2 years with a full time other job, but I have finally reached
the point where I can do nothing but wait for parts in the mail. The
firewall forward and float attach took longer than anticipated. The final
assembly of the basic airframe and the floats was complete May of last year.
Believe me, it doesn't FEEL fast!

Al.

Al,
In your forward floor picture I notice something that has been a subject of
some discussion in the past. It is about the rod end that comes from the
control stick and attaches to the forward portion of the bellcrank. When the
stick is moved throughout its range the rod end will bottom out on the
bellcrank and the top washer. That will force the rod end to rotate in the
threaded portion of the aluminum threaded cone. Wayne O. has shown a fix for
this by adding a small sleeve bushing (top and bottom) along with a longer
bolt. Somebody might have a picture that they can post.
Good luck,
Rick

Rick:

Funny, I just got off the phone talking to Sean White about this. I was
going to switch one of the rod ends to a female and have a bolt in a plain
bearing inside the pushrod with an extended threaded portion going into the
rod end. However, Sean convinced me to leave things as is. Forces are very
light, and it doesn't rotate that much. Of couse, you only have a jam nut
on the bellcrank end.

Thanks for pointing it out, though.

Al
