Firewall penetration/protection

Watched an interesting DVD at my EAA chapter meeting
this morning reference the various holes and
penetrations made in firewalls (grommets and fittings
) and the relative protection or lack there of from
an engine compartment fire.
I recall some discussion here some months ago on
preventing and dealing with just such an occurrence.
This video by AVCORP http://epm-avcorp.com/ showed the
use of recently designed and patent pending (stc
applied for) fixtures to slow and in some cases stop
said fire penetration into the cabin ( in conjunction
with the use of a stainless steel firewall).
The web site http://epm-avcorp.com/ while not as
graphic as the video does a pretty good job of showing
and explaining the problem and their solution. Check
it out. Might be something some of you will be
interested in.
