Gerry,
I found the pictures OK. Thanks. Now, I need to see comments on how
someone has figured out how to do this with the original MAM wing tips. Our
Moose was finished before the new drooped tips were available.

Dick,

Seems that there are couple of issues here. One as you state is how to
add the extra hinge on the original wing tips; the other point is that
older planes (e.g. mine) have the smaller aileron spade which doesn't
seem to have/cause the same cracking problem as newer models.

Hi Dick, There is a fellow in Ontario who added the extra hinge on the non
droop tips by installing a phenolic bushing on the tip rib. He then installed
a "pin" on the aileron spade rib by using a bolt with long threads and a nut
on either side to hold it. When he puts the aileron on he slips the "pin"
into the phenolic bushing and then bolts the aileron to the remainding
hinges. He stated he did not have to cut any extra inspection covers this
way. I hope this makes some sense.

Thanks Gerry. I can imagine basically what he did. I am wondering what the
phenolic bushing is. I wonder how he installed it in the tip rib without
having an inspection hole in the tip. The type of bushing will probably
answer that question. Can the fellow in Ontario be contacted to answer some
questions?
