Fouled Plug - CHT worth it.

Post by Ryan Mowat » Sat Feb 18, 2012 10:05 am

I confess that I have a fouled plugs in cylinder 5 (both of them) and in
cylinder 6 - Left Mag.

The M14 runs a little rough with 8 cylinders instead of 9. I tried
running her up and getting her hot but it is just not going to work.

Conclusion - the 9 CHT probes are worth the time to install.

How to foul your M14 plugs: Part A) Run the engine for a bit but do not
go flying. Part B) Over prime it the next time you start it.
This procedure seems to have done the job. Any guess on if is part A or
part B that did it?

Time to remove the bottom cowl for a plug cleaning. This is the first
time in two years that I've had a fowled plug.
