Flap skin

Post by Mike Davis » Sat Feb 18, 2012 10:05 am

Well it looks like my rib length came out just perfect, but I'm looking at
another issue with trying to get the skin on the frame. The first hole in
the skin where it wraps around the nose of the frame up to the top is
literally right in the edge of the bend. The MAM says to use masking tape
to help hold it in place... hah! I've got 3 ratchet straps on there right
now, and I'm not even really close to where it should be. I've uploaded a
photo to the archive site... could someone please take a look and tell me if
I just need to keep tightening, or is the hole in the wrong place on this
skin? The cover for the hinge access hole seemed to be bent wrong when I
drilled it, because the #40 holes transferred from the skin are less than an
1/8" from the short edge, while they're over 2" from the other end.
