Hello All,

The best buy I ever made was a pair of Robin Offset Heavy Duty Snips (part +ACM-TP299 +ACQ-44.50 USD from US Industrial Tool +ACY- Supply co. 1-800-521-4800). I regularly cut anywhere from very thin material to ..040 aluminum with these snips no problem, with a nice straight edge.

Also a 6+ACI- dia. X 1+ACI- wide x 1/2+ACI- thru hole 3M Scotch-Brite deburring wheel mounted on a 6+ACI- grinder helps radius and de-burr the edges very nicely. I bought mine, a 7A medium grade (harder) from Avery Enterprises (1-800-652-8379) part +ACM-03753 priced at +ACQ-40.00 USD (my catalogue is very old - not sure of current pricing...)

Hope this helps....

I have both of the 6+ACI- scotch-brite deburring wheels sold by Avery
mounted on
my grinder. I find that I use the 7S fine grade (softer) wheel, part +ACM-
1661, for the majority of my deburring, It is probably a 20 to 1 ratio of
use. I also use the two inch wheels on my 1/4+ACI- die grinder (Harbor
Freight,
about +ACQ-20.00) for the places I can not use the 6+ACI- wheels.

Mike,
Terry has a good starter list. I did not see where he listed a
compressor or air drill. Ours is a 2 hp Campbell Hausfield oil type and
deserves a medal for service. It only got behind using the air die
grinder and with two of us riveting to beat the ProSeal. Check the
compressor output ratings before purchase as they vary greatly at the
same horsepowers. Also be sure your shop system can start and carry
whatever HP you buy. This list has heard me tout the 1/4" Sioux brand
3600 rpm drill before but it is tops in my opinion and you will use it a
lot! Add the Avery lightweight airhose. One other tool I would
recommend is an aluminum builders square. There will be others you will
add based on your building style.

PS - Agree on the Quik Loc clecos!

Ralph, I was just testing to see if anyone was reading. HAHA!

You are quite correct about the compressor. The compressor is the heart of
the building process! Gotta have one of those. Is this where you say "bigger
is better"?

The only air tool I have is a die grinder that I have used once. I use
electric and battery powered drills.

In my opinion, as far as the Quik-Loc cleco's go, I have about 25 - 30
percent unusable (#40 & #30). Very frustrating when you grab a cleco and
insert it into the hole and all it does is flop around. And some of these
are #40 (3/32) that NEVER see epoxy or any other abuse! I talked to my
supplier concerning this problem (as the clecos were relatively new and not
abused) and he said that they had a 1 year warranty, Then I went to the
factory and they blew me off too. I am not happy with them. I have had some
clecos that I purchased at Boeing Surplus 18 years ago and they still work
just fine. Nice and smooth.
