Bob: I too hate to give up. It's not in my nature but reality must set in
at
age 70. Yes, the strip would have been perfect for the Rebel but the truth
is
I hardly get chance to land my Maule there. By the way, I am very pleased
that the strip (JAYARZ) is now on the Washington sectional. It is located
just under Melia intersection about 30 miles Southwest of Richmond VOR and
30
miles South of the Flatrock VOR.

Sorry to hear that - but I know how the time goes ! I haven't had nearly
as much time to fly the last few years, and it hurts !!
We were all listening to Jack Weibe at the builders meeting, telling
us about what a great summer he and Les McInnes had flying their amphib
Rebels around up north, "terrorizing the trout" - and sure hoping we could
have as much fun (if... :-( ) when we reach 71 !!
Maybe you could hire a helper .......
....bobp
Best of luck ! Maybe we'll get down that way one day & try out the strip
!

Who knows, maybe no one will want the kit and I will have it to work on if
and when
time is available.
I keep the strip mowed on a regular basis. There is a nice three bedroom
house on
the property which you could use for a night or two. I could lend you a car
to see
some of the area. Just give me a few days notice if you head this way.
