Windshield Mounting

Hi All
Began the most dreaded task- THE WINDSHIELD!!!!! Have it trimmed in the
front with an even fit but still quite a bit of a bending or spring load on
the sides. It wants to rise up when I push the sides in. Has anyone cut
the top off of the windshield just behind the front square cage? I'm not
installing the roof windows so I don't see this as a problem. I may be
missing something but there doesn't seem to be anything holding this long
overlapped piece between the top retaining strip and the top of the side
strips? Did the rivets in the two small front windows take care of this?
Also in the instructions at the top of the side strips there is an
indication of 1 1/4 distance of what??? Cut the glass 1 1/4 down from the
wing attachment point?? doesn't make sence. Thanks for the anticipated
incoming help!
