Looking at pictures of Ron's plane on wheels, (

inch tundra tires available with 6.00 by 6 tundra tailwheel."

I talked to another Moose owner at Oshkosh who expressed caution about
putting larger tires on the Moose, something or other about the gear not
being designed for the larger moment arm that such would create,
especially in a rough or off-field landing. Does anyone have any
insight into this comment?

Also, I'm curious if anyone on the list know's what type (make/model) of
tailwheel he is referring to (perhaps the AK Bushwheel one at
http://www.akbushwheel.com/TundraTailwheel.html )? It's hard to tell
from the picture on his website what the tailwheel make/model is.

MAM did those big truck tires/rims and I'm told it really got the gear
legs/box/door posts moving! These gave the idea/look of big tires to avoid
pot holes..but didn't do anything for shock absorption like a set of
"bushwheels" would. I've put a fair amount of thought into gear box mods
and
leg clamps (that I've shared at Ontario Builders meetings)... and other
landing gear adaptations to get rid of the leaf gear all together... but
since I'm not working on my Moose this winter it will be awhile before
that
all becomes something worthy of pictures or talking about.

If you want to go big tires without as much airframe shock
transition...Bushwheels has a new 35" tire for the Beaver's weight and 10"
wheels. Only about $4450us/pair (deal right now with free shipping also!
). They also have 31 inchers for the Supercub (or Rebel !!) on 6"
wheels..but they don't have a high enough weight rating for a Moose (and
are
