theNig, one more before I get back in the shop! I Sikaflexed the blocks in
place. Any thing..proseal, RTV etc would do.
The single 3/8" leg retainer bolt I put the nut on the outsid..... where
it's easy to properly torque. The saddle bolts probably have some merrit
going in from below as if you stripped a nut in a hard arrival the bending
bolt might crate enough friction to hold you up somewhat to negate a prop
strike.....although it definitely will add a bit of work to switching over
to the float brackets like you have envisioned!
Cheers,
Wayne

Subject: Elite Spring Gear crush tubes & compression block question
Hi All
Just a quick question about the spring gear compression tubes SG-10 and
compression block SG-5 that surround the AN5 and AN6 bolts holding on
togear legs inside the FUS 5 carrythrough's.
The manual shows the bolts going in from underneath, with the nut on the
top.
My question is has anyone had a problem when changing from spring gear
lesscompressionfloats or the other way round and whilst the bolt is removed thewastubes or block move and cannot be relocated around the bolt. If the boltmounted from above the nut could be removed and the bolt left more or
correctly.in place lying through the fuselage so the tubes remain located
isThe other option may be to "glue" the tubes in position before the floorrivetriveted down ?
Ideas, or am I just worrying about a non event (hopefully starting tothe floor down later tomorrow so thought I'd check :-)
