When ordering the AIL-26 bushing I'm told that MAM will just send the
tube for you to cut yourself. Anyone know what type of tube the
bushings are made of? It looks like it may be a steel 3/8 outside
diameter tube but the inside diameter looks smaller than any tubing I've
seen around.
Thanks,
Clay

Aileron bushings AIL-26
Clay, this bushing is made from 3/8 drill rod that is center drilled
with a "F" size drill. It is then cut to a length of 0.56". I hope this
info helps you.
Brent Galye.

Aileron bushings AIL-26
I'm pretty sure they are just standard aircraft tube Clay. Take a look
in the Spruce catalog and you should see a selection of numerous inside
diameters for each outside diameter of tube. It is a bit of fiddling to
cut/file them to length though if you don't have access to a lathe so
I'm surprised that MAM doesn't supply them cut to length anymore. I
would not hesitate to use any seamless (or Drawn Over Mandrel) steel
tubing or an industrial steel bushing from Spaenaur, MSC, etc.
