Aileron Hinge Reinforcement / Pics

Hi All,
We need to get our wings on before moving into a heated hanger and with days
now in the 30 F range here in NY we did not have the luxury of waiting for
MAM's aileron hinge reinforcement fix.
I have posted pictures of the fix I installed for any who may be in the same
boat waiting for MAM. PLEASE NOTE: I did what made since to me and I am not
an aeronautical engineer. Copy at your own risk.
The two wings differ because of the way the outer rib's flange are
orientated. The left wing uses a single piece of 2.5"x4"x1/8" Al angle
installed inside the outboard corner. The right wing uses a piece of
2.5"x4"x1/8" Al angle on the outside and a second 1.5"x1/5"x1/8" Al angle on
the inside.
I started solving the problem on the right wing first and then went to the
left. The inside angle of the right wing was decided on after installing the
large inside angle in the left wing. I liked the Idea of picking up a
section of rear spar. Because the small inside angle on the right wing was
an "after thought" you will see that there is a redundant row of rivets just
past the edge of the 1.5"x1/5"x1/8" Al angle. These I am sure can be
eliminated.
The end ribs already had the .04" (I think) doubler installed from when we
upgraded to the larger Aileron Spades.
I hope the pictures will be useful.
