I recently installed one of Matco's pneumatic tailwheels. Built very stout,
similar in design to a Maule{which I have had on a Maule} but stronger and a
different design in the way it kicks out. Paid about 190US from Aircraft
Spruce Co. Seems to work well.

I have been using the Matco as well for quite a period, vast improvement on
the Murphy one.

They do need to be retightened two or three times soon after you begin to
use them.

Good value.

I remember someone (I believe here in the group) giving a poor report on the
Matco tailwheel, citing that ground handling and tracking were less than
optimal.

I'd like to have a larger tailwheel, and was considering the Matco from a
price perspective until I read those posts.

Anyone remember that or have any experiences?

Tim
