Inflating PFD's

After dropping off FOKM today my wife picked me up at Brampton Airpark and
we then went to check out Canada's first Bass Pro Sports store that just
opened in Toronto, Ontario.
Leah'd bought me a Mustang MD3010 manual inflating vest this summer...but I
really wanted something with pockets... as you should know if it's not on
your body when you flip a float plane those survival items aren't much good
to you stored in the back when the airplane is 35 feet down in a cold lake!
I picked up a nice beige trout fishing vest with LOTS of pockets and the
nice red rip cord for the CO2 canister. Picked the beige over green as
figure would be much cooler on sunny summer days (and looks a lot nicer as
well). Was only $10 more than she paid for the MD3010 and now I can store
the necessities in the pockets to get by with and maybe a personal ELT..sat
phone etc in the pockets when heading into the outback would be a good idea
as well. Model # on the pocketed vest was Mustang MD1165 $170cdn. Now I
have the pocket vest for me and the MD3010 for my passengers.
One thing brought a tear to my eye..... while in Bass Pro Sports..... kind'a
like seeing a wild animal locked up in a cage.....there's a complete Beaver
hanging from the ceiling and I'm not talking a furry one like all the other
taxidermy stuff in there. This one is aluminum, complete and on floats and
not in bad shape. Would sure look better in my hanger...but I guess a good
way to collect appreciable assets disguised as a depreciable store display.
Cheers,
Wayne
