Hearing protection for a dog

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Sat Feb 18, 2012 9:40 am

Does anyone have knowledge of a good way to do this .....or remember what
magazine the article was in about a guy flying with his German Sheppards and
how he plugged their ears so the engine didn't make them go deaf??

Thanks!
Wayne

Hearing protection for a dog

Post by David Ricker » Sat Feb 18, 2012 9:40 am

Hi Wayne

I saw that subject line and wondered what kind of a joke it was and then
realized it was serious...........

I'd like to hear about this one too if you get any good answers, we have a four
legged family member (also known as our QA inspector on our web site!).

BTW, I kind of missed the thread on FOKM, I've been out of town for a few days.
I was in St Louis & amazed to see that they have EIGHT airports around the city
with a population of 345,000.

Cheers,

Dave

Hearing protection for a dog

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Sat Feb 18, 2012 9:40 am

Yep...sold FOKM to Garry Wright from Priddis, Alberta. He's supposed to come
back next week and pick it up...but I really don't see the weather
cooperating. I'm going to have to get it off the field here and over to
Midland this weekend if the rain/snow continues as the grass is getting a
tad soft!

Now I've got no floatplane to get to that cottage I just bought...but
installing the hydraulics into my Rebel at the present time to run my wheel
skis and then I will be mounting a set of the prebuilts to it come spring
(or buying Howard's from him when it's rebuilt come March!)

I also sent a link I have recieved showing some Knee pads converted to doggy
headseat! In case it doesn't come thru here is the link!

Cheers,
Wayne

Hearing protection for a dog

Post by Walter Klatt » Sat Feb 18, 2012 9:40 am

I've also tried to find a hearing protector for a dog, but no
luck. We have a small one that we take flying every once in a
while, but he's already deaf, so it's not a problem. And yes, he
was already deaf before we first took him in the plane. He's over
16 years old now, so don't expect him to last much longer, and am
thinking about our next dog.

Walter
