The Murphy Builders Site

Hi Wayne,
Thanks for the reply. Yup, that's the site I sent it to. When I'm on
duty the server I have to use has some very strange firewall protection that
seems to effect both the incoming and the out going mail. If there is a link
contained in the e-mail recieved to ANY site it will not let you reply and
frequently stops the e-mail from even being read. Makes a research project real
fun!!
Well, it seems that this aircraft meets the things you outlined. I
actually was going to trailer it to its new home, trying to avoid the no xpndr
hassels of the border and getting past the weather. Seems that is doable.

PS I'm going to go and measure the bolt hole size on the extention again!

Anyhow..as it's information that others may want or need in the near
future...if the Kitfox is Experimental (Homebuilt) it MUST have more than
100 hours of TROUBLE FREE flight time in the logs >BEFORE< crossing the
Canadian border for transfer to a Canadian Registration. If it meets this
then have a US pilot holder fly it across the border like he is on a
vacation. Then clear customs and carry on to the buyers home field. Once the
plane changes hands it will be grounded and he will then have to contact
Transport Canada or MD-RA inspection services. Not sure if MD-RA can do an
import inspection yet..but they can be called at 1- or www.md-ra.com . If
they can't do them yet then in Ontario the inspection would be done by Wayne
Juniper at Transport Canada 1-416-952-0040 Cell 905-977-1462

Can't get MDRA site to come up and get you the number...but I would call
Wayne Juniper and get it from the horses mouth how to do this right and as
painlessly as possible. Biggest thing he's been finding with US homebuilts
coming across so far is they don't have gascolators and questionable fuel
system installations. If it has a Rotax in it he is going to want to see a
carb heat system, and all placarding will have to be changed to meet
Canadian standards, etc.

The other option would be to bring the Kitfox in and then register it as an
Ultralight...no inspections required....with out Basic UL classification
having a max gross weight of 1200lbs. Problem with this is then no passenger
can be carried (two pilots can fly together) and a helmet would have to be
worn at all times.
