Bottom carrythrough rivets

Hi folks,

My manual - fuselage step 391 told me to drill one row of 3/16 rivets
down the center of each carrythrough tube at 1" spacing.

My newer manual on the CD also says this same thing at 12.21.1.

I drilled these two single rows of rivets so far only to #40 through
SG-13, FUS-40, the packer SG-18 and the carrythroughs.

Ok, now I go to do the 'sculpting' of SG-13 and the drawing in the
spring gear instructions clearly show TWO rows of rivets down each
carrythrough tube. Hmmm, I count the rivets sent with the spring gear
kit and there are enough for TWO rows in each tube.

I can't find anywhere in the manual or the spring gear instructions
where it said to drill two rows down each tube, I only have the drawing
and the bag of rivets to lead me that way.

Man I hate when this happens, now what? Here's the options I've thought
of so far..

1) Just go with one row down each tube - seems plenty strong to me but
I'm not a structual engineer. It evedently was strong enough for the
bungee gear though.

2) Drill the second row on each tube near the edge - in line with the
saddle bolts maybe. The rows will be close together - about 1/2-5/8
apart. Enough for edge distance but will look a bit crowded.

3) Drill two more rows near the edges of the tubes. The old #40 holes
will be between the new rows. The SG-7 plate - the last piece to go on
has not been drilled yet so It would hide the #40 holes when assembled.

Suggestions?

Ya sure the rivet count doesn't cover the amount you need for the inside
plates as well ??? Sent you a couple pics direct. Wayne

Hi Wayne, Thanks a million! Your pictures show exactly as I have done and
yes I forgot about the top plates when counting the rivets. Also, I looked
up the newer spring gear instructions on the MAM CD and the figure has been
changed to only show one row on each tube. Yeah! Back to work!
