Hello ,
I apologize for the delay responding. We have been
out of town for 3+ weeks. No computer etc.
Prior to switching to the latest insurance company, in
order to get full hull coverage, the Moose always had
builder's insurance. This was from day #1 after kit
delivery. We later added taxi insurance. The
builder's and taxi insurance was thru Falcon (Global).
At Oshkosh, I talked with our rep from Falcon
Insurance. It was his opinion that Falcon would be
unable to write a Moose flight policy other than what
we already had. No data, not enoungh flying blah,
blah, ...
While at Oshkosh, I asked several owners, of various
types of aircraft, about their insurance. A Super
Rebel builder gave me a card of an independent
aircraft insurance agency; Arrowood Insurance Group
located in Caldwell Idaho.
Arrowood got us 2 different quotes. Neither quote was
with Global. AIG wrote us a standard policy. Hull
coverage was <2%
The only AIG requirements were for named pilots to
have 2 hours dual and 1 hour solo. Still trying to
resolve these issues. Mike P.

Hi Ted,
It had to be the same company we talked to. Same
exact story.

The only broker I found that would even discuss
hull insurance was one
(Global something or other) out of the Pacific NW
area. Indeed, they
were REALLY pricey...too pricey for me...I asked
if it was due to any
experience/hours issue on my part or what. They
replied that I had
plenty of TW time; it was just that they (and no
one else) as any
actuarial experience on Murphy aircraft in general
and the Moose

Mike,
No help on the dual as it sounds like you will
be ready to fly before
we are. What insurance company or broker are you
using?

ready to fly.
We debated whether to insure the aircraft and
have decided to do so.
Affordable insurance, with full coverage, is
available with one
requirement.
The company requires 2 hours dual instruction in
a similar Moose
aircraft; Meaning a Moose with the radial
engine.
I am not a CFI Airplane. I am an ATP with lots
of T/W time including
the AT-6.
Please give me any recommendations regarding the
dual. I appreciate
the assistance.
