Moose elevator update

Just in case anybody besides me is currently working on their Moose tail
feathers... MAM just posted an update to the elevator chapter... seems in
addition to the new EL-32 (tube over the trim tab push rod) they are also
beefing up the trim tab control horns. New parts are ELE-1001 & ELE-1002.

Mike - Have you seen the new horn pieces? If so - What is the difference
between the ELE-1001/2 and the old EL-36R/L? Is it heavier gauge, longer
bearing area or what? Bottom line for me - Is it worth replacing?

The new horn pieces are about 6" long, versus perhaps 2" for the old
ones. MAM reports that some folks notices stress cracks in the
underlying elevator skin developing after about 100 hrs using the old
ones.

I haven't seen them yet, but the manual change indicates that they are
attached to the elevator with 14 rivets, 7 per side... vice the current 3 (I
think) per side. So this would make the mounting surface much longer,
distributing the twisting force over much more of the tab. I sent an e-mail
to MAM asking them to send me the new pieces, but haven't heard back yet.
