viruses, repeat messages, and digest mode

Thanks Bob, if you get any more repeat messages could you please forward
them to me so I can try and track down what's happening... other than the
obvious 10 copies we all saw the other day, which by the way were actually
10 different messages, I have not seen any of this.

I have also figured out how to exclude the list addresses from receiving
virus confirmation messages... so that won't be a problem anymore.

As for the inbox full of messages... the digest mode of the rebel-builders
list has been up and running now for a couple of months now with absolutely
no problems. There are currently 20 some folks signed up for it. If you've
been holding out to see if there were any problems it looks good. Remember
you can always subscribe and unsubscribe to the lists yourself at:

Thanks for all the work Mike !

Just to add to your worries - it looks like that old problem of repeated
sending of messages might be coming back ! I've had 3 instances of
multiple
copies of the same message - totally identical, including send time ....
from 3 different people on the list ... Not nearly as bad as the
"box
full of mail" we had a few years ago, but worrying !

Thanks !

Well Angus should be back as soon as he confirms his subscription...
It's
amazing the lengths folks go to when they're trying to spam or spread
viruses. These messages were indeed being sent by a telus.net server,
but
the connecting domain was les-abbey.com... which it turns out doesn't
even
exist. I've sent the information off to telus.net that one of their
users
was spoofing to send out viruses... hopefully they'll drop him. Oh, and
I
have blocked his messages based on his bogus domain. Now if I can
figure
out how to stop the virus confirmation messages from going out to the
entire list...
