Hi Everybody !

I finally shook some pictures out of the digital camera & posted them !
These are shots of the new paint job and the 4-door cowl with modified
Thorp T-18 nosebowl - all done by Purple Hill Air, near London, Ontario.

They have patterns of the cowl in case anyone else wants one ;-) :-)
Call John Goris (519) 461-1964 - when he gets home from Ireland next
week !

I've posted 2 shots of the whole Rebel in 126-R-Fuselage, 3 shots of the
cowling in 129-R-Cowling, and 2 shots in 137-R-Personalities, of the gang
from Purple Hill, and me with the Rebel.

Sorry they're a bit big ! Mike - please feel free to shrink them if you
want. We might have use for a section for Completed Aircraft in each area,
if that's possible .... and maybe a Rebel Trips section ???

I now have 'almost' the ultimate Rebel - the Fife Hoerner wing tips,
the McKenzie STOL kit wing cuffs & fences, and a sexy, easy to maintain
cowling - now all I need are the 1800 Amphibs !! I feel a trip to Chilliwack
coming on ..... ;-) :-)

....... bobp

Many thanks to Rick Harper for his guidance on the T-18 nosebowl from AS !

Gee Bob! "Twin"s and undersized fusleage letters on her to boot (considering
I see none under the left wing)! You planning to come up here and do some
low level flying and get me in shit?? :o))

Wow, it's going to be easy to spot you, that's for sure. Heck,
Bob, I don't think you even need an ELT. So when are you coming
out to Chilliwack to get your amphibs?

Gee Bob - It sure looks good and it is indeed 'almost' there...
I reckon a Subaru or diesel engine upgrade would truly put you in the
competition for "ultimate" Rebel though.... ;)

Hi Bob

The plane looks great and now that you have "almost the ultimate Rebel"
what type of numbers are you getting? I also think you are right in that a
set of 1800 floats would only add to her.

Hi Wayne !

Actually, there are letters under the wing - but I can buzz by in
a steep bank so they can't read them !!! ;-) :-)

Wait 'til I get the amphibs on ..... ;-)

I designed that paint job, and I like it, soooooo - there may be a
couple more like it before I'm done ! I saw a Moose with something
close .....

Hi Gary !

Numbers haven't changed much - cruise is about 118 mph,
climb is 1,500 - 2,000 fpm on a good day, and stall is about
45 mph indicated (think it's lower really ...), and landings are
just beautiful !! :-)

Just for fun I pulled it up to 46 mph on climbout - still
going up at 800 fpm, and with full control !! :-) :-)

Now ready for amphibs - and then I'm going out to sell
a LOT more Rebels !! :-) :-) :-)

Next Rebel Builders Meeting is scheduled for Sept. 19th -
might have to move later if I'm still in BC ...

Hey Bobp,

I crossed into Canada and back to the US without a transponder ... this year.
It just required a phone call. I was more concerned I had no passport or
birth certificate. Canadian customs issued a courtesy pass (lucky for me) and,
well, they had to let be back into the states although they did give me a hard
time about it.

Bob P. Great looking Rebel - Nice to see it painted. The red and yellow make
a nice bright aircraft. Nice cowl set up also. Looking forward to seeing up
close. Question: Are you using a prop spacer 2 or 3". The nose looks longer
then my Rebel"652" set-up. Bob J
