1. Given the postings on the bungee landing gear that I read, would the
spring gear be a good upgrade?

I've built Rebels both ways and I wouldn't do the spring gear again. The
bungee gear is all you need, and switching to floats (is much simpler ). KISS

2. Would you go with the flaperons or upgrade to the split aileron/flap
combination?

There again KISS it works. It's a LOT of extra work for split flaps and it
dosn't do a thing.

3. How is the factory support going recently? I have heard all sorts of good
things but in scanning some recent emails it seems like there are some folks
less than happy reading between the lines.

Was always pretty good to me.

NEW TO LIST WITH QUESTIONS

Good Day All!

I found the list from the Murphy Aircraft website and recently signed up. I have been shopping around for a kit and picked the Rebel for its size (it, like myself, is "generous"), its payload with full fuel and the fact that it just looks cool in a rugged kind of way.

I would like to toss out a couple of questions to the group as I figure out what and when to order the kit.

I appreciate the help from all of you, and the support of Mike for maintaining this list.

I would like to toss out a couple of questions to the group as I figure
out what and when to order the kit.
1. Given the postings on the bungee landing gear that I read, would the

The bungee gear works pretty good once you get it installed. spring gear
adds quite a bit of weight but you'll cruise a bit faster. I have die
springs replacing my bungees and they work very well with just a slight
weight penalty. From time to time Wayne O'Shea makes a bunch for sale.
2. Would you go with the flaperons or upgrade to the split aileron/flap
combination?

The flaperons work great. I can't think of any good reason to go with the
split flaps. It's offered as an option because many asked for it but I
don't think very many rebels are flying with them. Just more weight and
complexity with no real improvements.

3. How is the factory support going recently? I have heard all sorts of
good things but in scanning some recent emails it seems like there are some
folks less than happy reading between the lines.

I haven't had any dealings with the factory for a couple years. I think the
teck support has always been pretty good but sometimes they're slow
shipping backorders.

I appreciate the help from all of you, and the support of Mike for
maintaining this list.

The factory is very receptive, responsive, informative and recently very
quick to ship -

I hope it was not me that was whining - Overall I feel incredibly privileged
to be in the middle of this project -
