Hi
I am Angus McKenzie COPA1508914. My wife and I are contemplating a
Sept. trip in our Murphy Rebel on amphib floats and I was wondering if
you might be able to offer any assistance with advice or contacts for
our route?

We are thinking about departing London On. Sept.5-6 for Moosenee then
along the coasts of James and Hudson Bay's to York Factory then in the
Nelson River to Thompson MB then west Flin Flon,LaRonge,Meadow LK,Lac La
Biche,Valleyview,Dawson Creek then along Hwy 97 to Prince George then
Vancouver Is. and then back east via the southern route.

My main concern for advice relates to the portion from Moosenee to
Thompson regarding fuel etc. It would be helpful to be able to speak to
someone who is familiar with this area or route regarding "Real life"
availabilities as compared to those published ones, which sometimes tend
to have been "overly optimistic" when you get there.

My limited northern experience comes from working with spray planes
along the Abitibi R. in a supported environment and numerous ag-plane
ferry trips from western Canada to SW.On. so this ,recreational flying
vacation, will be a new experience and one I would wish to plan as safely
as possible.

Thanks for any help you can offer,
Best regards, Angus

Hi Bob
Thank you so much for the invitation. We should talk.
Today I reserved a satellite phone for the trip and as well Tom Inglis is
lending us his Garmin 295 to supplement our old 95.
Paul Nopper of Ancaster has made similar trips several times for his
documentaries and he has offered a great deal of info today.
Maybe we could pop in on you the end of next week when we will be at our
place at Six Mile...........Cheers, Angus

Didn't get anywhere today, but hope to fly up to visit Tom at the old
Wingham Airport in the morning. There's a Poker Run on, with Hangover,
Kinky-Kardine, Goderich, Wiarton, and a bunch of other turnpoints ...

Tom will be flying his 912 Rebel - maybe we'll meet up with you at
Hangover for lunch !!???

Hi Bob
Thank you so much for the invitation. We should talk.
Today I reserved a satellite phone for the trip and as well Tom Inglis
is
lending us his Garmin 295 to supplement our old 95.
Paul Nopper of Ancaster has made similar trips several times for his
documentaries and he has offered a great deal of info today.
Maybe we could pop in on you the end of next week when we will be at
our
place at Six Mile...........Cheers, Angus

a compression check before I head north on sunday so I need to get the
engine warmed up. :) Are you back to St. Thomas or still at purple hill?

Hey Angus Do you know Dr. Chapeski in Dorchester? He's the one with the
v8seabee at his home strip just east of london airport. He's done the trip
you're planning a few times and loves to tell about it.
