oil cooler location

hi Angus,

we added an oil cooler and then changed it's ductwork/location 4 times.
we went from nothing to firewall with 2 inch scat from left rear
baffle. then to 3 inch from left baffle. next was right rear baffel
mount for the cooler. last, and so far successful, was left front air
inlet lower ramped baffle for the cooler location. we were breaking in
our overhauled 0-320 during this period, but i think you can't possibly
get enough air through a 3 inch scat to do the job. get the cooler in
the airflow and infront of the heat source has got to be better than
aft.

good luck. don't give up because there is a solution for your
particular set up waiting for you to find it.
