What does transport canada want to see when you submit the paper work
to them after putting a Rebel on floats.

I see that they want a Weight and Balance and a climb performance.

Can you give them the gross weight of the floats and an arm with sample
W&Bs or do they expect the use of scales again?

Because I upped my gross weight when I changed to floats, they
made me get a new airworthiness certificate and all the paperwork
(and money) that goes with that, just like when you do it the
first time on wheels. My recommendation to those that are first
registering on wheels, start with the higher float gross weight,
and you won't have to change it later. Normally, I think you can
get away with just notifying them and giving them some new weight
and balance info.

I believe the last RAA magazine issue had an article on this...
If you can't find a copy I think it was only one page so I could look it
up and type it out if there is anyone here who can get RAA
permission to post it to the archives. Or maybe it is even on the RAA
web site??

Ken:

I don't have a copy. If you would be so nice to post it that would be
great.

Here you go. I pasted Gary's reply below. RAA Canada is pretty much what the EAA was many years ago to the USA and their magazine is pretty good.
Ken
Ken,
I have just sent the document to our webmaster for posting to the RAA
website. He is at a fly-in this weekend, so please check Monday to see if it
has been posted. You may then send the Rebel fellows to www.raa.ca to read
the article. I have included a mention that the dues of RAA National members
paid the costs of assembling the information. We certainly could use more
National memberships from the Rebel owners' group. Everyone here is a
volunteer and works for free because we feel that Canada needs a strong
national organization to represent amateur builders in Ottawa. We borrow the
time from our businesses and our families, but there are a lot of phone and
travel costs. Membership is the price that must be paid to keep this going.
Perhaps you could mention this when you post the link to the article.

Regards,
Gary Wolf
