Hi All
Anyone fitted resistive fuel quantity senders to their aircraft, and if so
can you remember was it a 12" or 24" model you used ?.
I've only seen these 2 sizes available, and both can be cut down but not
extended.
My wings are due in a few weeks and I'd like to order up stuff in advance.
Thanks
Nigel

Rebel/Elite Fuel tank senders
Nigel,
I installed Stewart-Warner part #SW-385C-F senders in each tank root rib.
These are listed in the S-W catalog as being for tank depths of 6-12 inches.
Hope this helps.

Rebel/Elite Fuel tank senders
I've installed Westac. probes.
You can get 24" that have the first few inches bendable. This allows you
to mount on the forward top main rib area then put in a goose neck bend
so it goes up then down and back. I had originally bought the 1/4" x 24"
but decided to go with 1/2" x 36" to get greater acuracey. Was so long
ago now I'm not sure why.
IT may have been because the rebel guys were using 24" but have a shoter
tank (front to back) then the Moose and I wanted to get an acuate
reading when sitting on the tail wheel. I had to run back at an angle so
it extends to the outside rear of the second bay. Westac will custom
make any size of probe. I still have the 24" and may get ride of some
day. If going with Westac go with the 24" bendable.

Nigel:
I used Princeton capacitive senders, in the 24" size. They are bendable and
can also be shortened. No reports on performance yet, I'm afraid. I had a
mounting plate machined which is threaded to take the sender bolt hole
pattern, and riveted to the root rib.
