I also got a stearn warning last year in New York state, from a nice State
Trooper in the patrol boat at Delta Lake State park. He pulled up beside me
while I was trolling and asked where my registration #'s where for the side
of the boat. I told him that any boat in Canada operated by less than a 10HP
motor (reason Johnson/Evinrude made 9.9's and not 10's!) did not need to be
registered. He told me "a dock with a trolling motor on it needed to be
registered in NY" and cautioned me for my next trip into New York State. We
had a good converstion about that and my unique boat and he went on his way.
Damn good thing he didn't ask to see my NY State fishing license!! :o))

Cheers, Wayne
Wayne,

Small world! Randy, my partner in a Moose and I both have homes on Delta
Lake. Though a permit is needed from the state to land on Delta I have
enjoyed many hours doing so with the CH 701 amphib I sold a few years ago
after deciding to move onto a Moose. The Sheriff is a good guy and really
likes the idea of having a seaplane on the lake. If you ever get down this
way again we will have to hook up. Our Moose is coming along well. Randy and
I are shooting for a first flight this fall.

Take care.
Catch you later,
Don Boardman

Wish I had of known that Don!! Spent three days there in late July, catching
the last available site at Delta after coming up from below Rome NY and
thought it looked like a good place to waste the rest of my holiday in a
boat! Didn't catch much, but had fun! I could have come over and played
airplanes .....if I'd known you guys were there...but then again that's why
I was on a holiday to get away from that stuff (or so the boss told me!!)
