Boat Licence required in Canada/Small World

Wayne,I also got a stearn warning last year in New York state, from a nice State
Trooper in the patrol boat at Delta Lake State park. He pulled up beside me
while I was trolling and asked where my registration #'s where for the side
of the boat. I told him that any boat in Canada operated by less than a 10HP
motor (reason Johnson/Evinrude made 9.9's and not 10's!) did not need to be
registered. He told me "a dock with a trolling motor on it needed to be
registered in NY" and cautioned me for my next trip into New York State. We
had a good converstion about that and my unique boat and he went on his way.
Damn good thing he didn't ask to see my NY State fishing license!! )
Cheers, Wayne
Small world! Randy, my partner in a Moose and I both have homes on Delta
Lake. Though a permit is needed from the state to land on Delta I have
enjoyed many hours doing so with the CH 701 amphib I sold a few years ago
after deciding to move onto a Moose. The Sheriff is a good guy and really
likes the idea of having a seaplane on the lake. If you ever get down this
way again we will have to hook up. Our Moose is coming along well. Randy and
I are shooting for a first flight this fall.
Take care.
Catch you later,
Don Boardman
