Moose Fast Build Order

I have a complicated building schedule due to upgrades and changes.

I built the stab, elevator, and rudder for the SR and then made the changes
to beef them up for the Moose. I got the Moose quick build fuselage and
wings. I am starting to put things together from there. When I follow the
quick build order, it seems like it just doesn't make sense. For instance,
it suggests putting the ailerons and flaps on prior to putting the wings on
but the control section states the flaps must be off to put the control
tube through the fuselage. To take the flaps off, you lose the bolt inside
and may have to take the wing back off.

Anyone have a suggested order that might be better?

Hi Brent.

We found that as a general guide the suggested order is ok if you don't make
many changes. However, we have made so many changes/upgrades that it isn't
being followed at all anymore.

As far as the ailerons and flaps it is easier to fit and finish up the
hinges with the wings in the cradle rather than on the airplane. We then
removed the ailerons and flaps and set aside. Then you can put the wings on
whenever you are ready and mark the hole in the side of fuselage for the
flap torque tube. If, like me, you do not have room to put the wings on you
can install all of the controls and cables but just leave the torque tube
for later once you put the wing on for good.

I was looking ahead and saw the screwy deal with that bolt on the inner flap
hinge just a couple of days ago. Another builder is sending me pictures on
a CD with a modification so you don't have that problem. I'll let you know
what it is all about when I find out.

Having said all that, I don't have the main (large, heavy) flap torque tube
at all anymore. My flap cable comes up the center then splits and goes over
to each side then up to new arms that connect to that short torque tube that
comes through the fuselage sides to the flap. The control arms that the
cables attach to are all inside the fuselage so I do not have that hole in
the top with the cover over it anymore (it fit like horses#$t anyway). This
all just happened in the past two days. I will not have automatic aileron
droop anymore but decided I will like it better being able to manually
select aileron droop as I see fit. Of course you can dork it up and stall
the outboard wing first if you screw around with the ailerons drooped and
the flaps up..:)

So I really don't have a "better" building order but if you want ideas on
how to make your airplane heavier I have lots of those...
