Moose - Prop RPM & Air System

Ted, Did it go to full pressure before turning on the dump valve? Is this
with the overboard dump valve closed?
I think (but am not sure) that the pump doesn't put out full pressure at the
lower RPM, however if the bottle went to full it shouldn't leak back down.
Does it leak down on the ground? I can't remember if Brent mounted all the
valves on the firewall or not but there is a lot of fittings for possible
leaks there. Check valve, start solenoid and overpressure valve would be the
ones that could let the bottle leak (and of course any fitting in between).
The dump solenoid shouldn't really matter as far as bottle pressure as it is
on the pump side of the check valve.
If you go here: http://www.matronics.com/search/
Then go to YAK and enter a search on air system or air leaks you will find
some postings. I subscribe to the YAK list to get M14 info. If you
subscribe and ask a question on the list 99.9% they won't give you the time
of day if they know you are not a YAK though, funny how that works.

In trying a wide variety of power settings today, I found that if I don't
have the prop turning at at least 1450 (engine rpm of 2200) my air system
doesn't stay charged...it degrades below 700+ psi.
