Can anyone give me some ideas as to how the Rebel wing fairings fit over?
Under? Or around the metal retainer at the top of the windshield. I have been
through the photo archives and do not find any photos that depict this area.
My top windshield retainer is temporarily installed and I have it cut to the
full width of the cabin top. I was thinking I could create a bit of a joggle
on the inside edge of the top fairing to fit up and over the aft edge of the
windshield, and run it under the retainer.
I would appreciate any comments or suggestions.
Also, does the inside flange of the bottom wing fairing get fastened at all
to the fuselage root rib (FUS-27)? Or does it just float against it?
Thanks for any help.

Rebel Wing Fairings
Rebel Wing Fairings
My fairings just butt up against the windsheild retainer with a peice of
rubber U-channel from aircraft spruce installed to help keep it from
chafing. On the top junction I bent a slight break into the edge of the
fairing to keep it flat at the edge and not vibrate in the wind. The
fairings attach to the wing only.

Rebel wing fairings
For the wing fairings at the fuselage why not put a few screws
vertically down through the roof and into the fuselage? There are
comments about using rubber or foam under this so that it does not wear
into the roof. That makes sense since the top fairing is going to try to
lift in flight. Much as I hate sheet metal screws, it seems to be
reasonable to use some here. I am using screws instead of rivets on the
wing side of the fairing as well and I added extra tabs on the wing to
make that easy.
Similarly on the bottom fairing. Why not put a couple of screws through
the fuselage and into the vertical flange that sits against the side of
the fuselage.
I think I've seen cracks and flaked off paint on these fairings which
suggest they vibrate around when fastened according to the manual on the
wing side only.
