Building table in the bedroom?

My tail kit is on order, so I will start building a mini table for the
bedroom. Maybe I could just convert the bed? seriously though, I guess I
will make it at least six feet long, but what is the minimum width I can
use? Remember this is just for the tail-kit components. Also, what is the
right amount of overhang around the edges considering 3/4" ply stiffness vs
max clamping depth?
