Well its that time, I'm putting the wings back on to go ski flying.

The weather up here in Yellowknife is warming up.

I am putting the wings on today. When I took the wings off, the
attachment for the wing spar to the fuselage there is a 1/2" space.
Should there be a bushing or should there be play in the in the
direction of flight. Without a bushing I am unable to torque the bolt,
spar, to the proper value.

Thanks,

Peter

I'll tell you Peter, it's a good thing you took this thing apart before
flying anyone in it! MUST fill the empty spaces at the front attach pick up
based on where the rear attach places the forward one. Make sure the rear
one is not distorted fwd or backwards when determining the correct spacers.

peter,

Yes, you need a spacer at the forward wing attach fitting. I fabricated and
used a delron spacer but several washers would work too. You need something to
allow you to torque the nut and keep the wing from wanting to shift under
loads.

Delrin rounds 1 1/2 " diameter are available from Aircraft Spruce. It
is simple to measure the required thickness and the lathe turn or cut
and file flat a shim to suit. Then a simple drill for the attach bolt.
