allowYes Ron, the original intent was for enjoyment/learning etc and I have no
problems with that. HOWEVER 2 year ago next month (after 5 years of CARAC
meetings) the Federal Government published and signed an Exemption to
toprofessional assistance in the construction of an airplane PROVIDED that
there was a "builder of record" to oversee the COMPLETE process. This
"builder of record" was included to make it clear cut that Mass production
would not be tolerated. Now almost 2 years after all the Canadian
publications and even the US EAA magazine published that you could now pay
someone to completely build your amateur built aircraft for you in Canada
(thanks to this exemption), without any rebuttal from TC, they are pulling
on the reins and saying "is that what we intended"?.
Doesn't change my life one bit! I was just looking out for those that are
feeding good money into facilities that are building subassemblies or
airframes for them. The "pro" content has absolutely no responsibilities
haveTransport Canada... as it all lies on the builder of record to prove they
have properly overseen the construction and I wanted to make sure those,
that know whom they are, are well abreast of the situation before they
"Pro's"a Rebel weather vane!
Cheers,
Wayne

The Amateur Built program was never intended nor promised to allow
to build and sell aircraft. Period
