Subject: Initial Report - Montana 2200 Amphibs.

I received my kit for these floats on Jan 20, and now have just over 100
hrs into it. The bulkheads are attached to the deck on the right float,
and I'm ready to start riveting the skins.

I like:

Pre-fabicated main gear assemblies, top deck and other parts

Pre formed front chines

Solid/braided lines for hydraulics and brakes

Packaging of components

Quality of gear mechanism

Option for electric hydraulic pump, position sensors

Factory support - very responsive

Negatives:

A couple of minor errors on the drill pattern - they have promised
replacement parts

A number of design improvements that are undocumented. Some were
described verbally, but I keep coming across more. But they are
improvements!

Some areas in the instructions just not covered at all.

Al Hepburn

Photos available if anybody is interested.
