You know.the four letter stuff does happen!
December 2, 2003 I made an order for the last pieces which I would need
to get my aircraft in an airworthy condition and made arrangements with
an FAA/DAR to do the final inspection on the fourth week in December.
I called Elaine on Dec 14th to follow up. No one knew what was going on
(she's not available). I reordered the parts through Dean as well as
seat covers.
So I wait & I wait thinking that sooner or later the parts would come.
Finally, I get fed up and call Daryl today and he tells me they fired
Elaine! No apologies. Just reorder the parts! I tell him this is the
fourth time this has happened and it's like they fired Elaine what more
do you need?. (How about a Centennial Data Plate!) We've got lots of
satisfied customers! Reorder the parts!
Point is . if Murphy Aircraft owes you parts..be prepared to reorder
them again!
HARD LESSON LEARNED!

It seems some customers have been missinformed concerning my absence from my
position as shipping supervisor/ purchaser at MAM..I have been on a medical
leave since Jan 9th,04 and am due to Return Apirl 9th..After reading the
email below, i have since been in contact with MAM and have been assured that
I have not been fired and that these are simply rumors. I am a little
confused as I have emailed other customers and have been told that they also
were told I was no longer at MAM.I am not sure why MAM is telling customers
this information needless to say I am not sure why my customers would tell
rumors as they have nothing to gain. This concerns me deeply as I feel I have
done nothing wrong and that this will affect my reputation in the future. I
would appreciate knowing if there is anyone else that has also been given
this false information. In all fairness to my customers I am very sorry if I
was unable to meet your needs but in all due respect I do my very best with
what I have to work with as a shipper/ purchaser at Murphy Aircraft Mfg.
Thank you
Elaine

G'day Elaine !
We hope whatever has been ailing you is cured ! .... and for christs
sake DON'T LEAVE M.A.M.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Although we LOVE our Rebel and think it's an EXCELLENT aircraft ,
MAM is largely WAY deficient in "people skills" / promotions !!!
M.A.M. CANNOT afford to lose you ... you're their "face to the
world" and a lot of their credibility with us lowly builders is due to
YOU !
Stay PUT !

It seems some customers have been missinformed concerning my absence
from my
position as shipping supervisor/ purchaser at MAM..I have been on a
medical
leave since Jan 9th,04 and am due to Return Apirl 9th..After reading
the
email below, i have since been in contact with MAM and have been
assured that
I have not been fired and that these are simply rumors. I am a little
confused as I have emailed other customers and have been told that
they also
were told I was no longer at MAM.I am not sure why MAM is telling
customers
this information needless to say I am not sure why my customers would
tell
rumors as they have nothing to gain. This concerns me deeply as I feel
I have
done nothing wrong and that this will affect my reputation in the
future. I
would appreciate knowing if there is anyone else that has also been
given
this false information. In all fairness to my customers I am very
sorry if I
was unable to meet your needs but in all due respect I do my very best
with
what I have to work with as a shipper/ purchaser at Murphy Aircraft
Mfg.
Thank you
Elaine

G'day Ben ;
FEAR NOT ! .... ALL this stuff gets read by M.A.M. .... we know,
'cause when the discussion group "hits a nerve" ...there is suddenly a
"We usually don't enter into these kinds of discussions, but as you have
mentioned THIS item in your group ...blah, blah" from somebody at
Murphy.
I'll often throw a "politically incorrect" line into a conversation ...
just to gauge the response ... ( human nature / psychology kinda stuff
)... very inetersting watching how various natured people deal with
"the hot potato" issue :-) ....
Mum always said to me " Find out what you're good at and stick to it"
... trouble is , shit stiring isn't in big demand in the "work
available" adds ... and it invariably never pays well anyway !
Where are you up to with your plane Ben ?
As Bob says ... "Keep building ... you're gonna LOVE IT !"

Well the Rumors turned out to be true. Today I was formally fired from
Murphy Aircraft Mfg. Not by Darryl personally as he was to much of a coward
to come out of his office so he had Dean (His accountant do his dirty work
for him as always!!! Reason given was Redirection of the company!!! When I
asked for this in writing Dean said he didn't have to give an excuse... and
sent me on my way.. HMMM isn't that what he says to his customers.. But you
know life goes on ... and mine will.... I am happy to have made so many
friends in the past 11 years at MAM and will keep in touch.. I am just
puzzled on how Mr Murphy can sleep at night..

Best Wishes Elaine!
He may not have to give you a reason, but without willfull misconduct on your
part(if BC is the same as Ontario) he has to give you one week severance for
every year or even part of a year up to 8 full weeks severance....unless you
where given the same amount of times notice in advance of termination. This is
also the case if an employee has been laid off without notice in Ontario and
not recalled within 13 weeks!
Cheers,
Wayne

Elaine:
I'm really disappointed to hear that Murphy took this action and made it
public in the way he did. He needs to get feedback from customers to
determine who contributes value and who doesn't.
Elaine, if you ever need recommendations on your customer service skills,
let us know. I would be happy to write one, and I'm sure others would too.
Good Luck in the future,
Tom Packard
