I took these dimensions off my fuselage today.

Top to bottom over the top of the fuselage rib to the cabin bottom using
the points giving the greatest dimension is 48.75 inches. (Gear
attachments not included)

Max side to side width over the lift strut attachments without wedge
shaped flap fairings is 47.5 inches.

Length of fuselage from lower lip of firewall to rear of fin / lower
fuselage is 207.75 inches.

Top of installed fin to bottom of fuselage is 58".

Note I also measured the overall width across the installed flap
fairings at the tear of the flaps but the figure I wrote down can't
possibly be true. I will recheck tomorrow. This should at least get
you started.

P.S. - I rode my motorcycle out to the hangar to get these measurements.

Elite fuselage dimensions

Thanks Wayne, Jeffery, Nigel, Jeffery and everyone else who spoke up on this.

This is all about deciding if we can do the bulk of the fuselage work inside
the heated basement vs heating up the garage when we want to do a couple of
hours of building during an evening.

I think width will be a moot point if it is 48" +/- since the door is presently
36" and will have to be widened in any case. Of course the guy with the
concrete saw said one foot or 3 wider would be the same price......... The
length on the other hand was a bit more of a concern but it sounds like we are
OK there too, we will just have to take down one set of shelves to do it, not a
big deal especially since much of the stuff on the shelves is fuselage parts!.
It will be snug but as my friend Rick down under knows, where there is a will
there is a way! (Right? How is that 320 coming?)

Thanks guys, aways great to have someone to ask for info!

Cheers,

Dave

PS Ralph, you had to mention the bike, now I am going to have to go out and put
the charger on ours for their mid winter charge.....spring will come soon I
hope. Oh yeah, the little rodent (groundhog) here did say no more winter - we
are going to hold him to it!
