I measured a C-185 on amphibs on the ramp and got 13' 1".
I don't know how tall our moose will stand on it's Aerocets.
We should know in a month or two.

If I was building a hanger I would plan on, at least14 ft. ish.

We are installing an MT 102" three blade with Beta on our M-14PF. Will
report this summer on how it works out. HOPE HOPE HOPE.

The top of the tail on N526AP, is under 13' with the amphibs. The hangar has
a 16' side wall and a15' door opening. My door is one piece and lifts up on
tracks, the way it hangs, there is only 13'6" of clearance. If you go with
commercial doors or other styles you can increase the door clearance by a
foot or more. IMHO if your building your own hangar go with the extra height
its inexpensive space for later to build a storage loft or whatever.
