Hi Brian,

You and the other guys might also be interested in the following. While
I worked for a certified manufacturer here in France, I was responsible
for the flight testing of the first production aircraft. I worked with
the French flight testing branch of their aviation authority. Now these
guys were probably the best pilots I have ever flown with. Ex fighter
jocks, usually having flown Mirage fighters. Very modest, objective, but
capable of getting absolutely THE MAX out of an aircraft. They kept
eyeing the 0-320 Rebel in the hanger here, and finally asked me if they
could take a ride.
Their chief summed up the Rebel as follows:" Without question, the
finest STOL experimental I have flown. Slightly light on the elevator,
but well designed, safe, and displaying exceptional performance and
speed range. Low speed handling was perhaps the best in the catagory. C
of G range allowed private pilots a large margin for error."
He finished by saying he was seriously considering one for his
retirement!!
We knew this all along, did'nt we Bob!

Hi Brian,

I have been reading a lot from all the builders recently. Sounds like
everybody is progressing nicely. I would like to add that to those who
are looking for a little more speed out of the Rebel, I am producing
Hoerner wing tips. I have had good results with the prototype part and
have several orders from builders. Please check out the photos in Wray
Thompsons webb page. I am beginning production and soon will be
delivering parts to those who have ordered.
Should anyone be wanting to gain 2 MPH in cruise, lower the stall 2 MPH
and shorten the ground roll, give me a note back. Cost? Well, it all
comes done to cost. 520.00 U.S. plus shipping.
AS most of you know, I am not currently a builder, but, some day I hope
to be.
Keep em flying and enjoy the sky's.

Thanks for the call re: the tip delivery. At the Sunday Rebel meeting, Bob
P. commented on a conversation which you had regarding the length that your
tips add the airplane, It sounds like that if you would like more lift, you
would leave them as long as possible, and for a little more speed, shorten
to
a max of 4 inches.

Could you please add any of your comments to Bob's notes to ensure that I
got
it right?

Regarding the light elevator feel mentioned below. Would anyone have any
comments on the elevator horn that was modified several years ago. (There
was a
bulletin on this) It increases stick movement but would reduce stick forces
(lighter stick). I was planning to upgrade mine to the current one before I
fly.
