MontanaHi Bruce & All,
Finletts, I like that name. Is that what they are really called?
As Al mentions, reports I have heard indicate the Moose on floats
experiences significant adverse yaw.
Randy and I will be installing the ventral fin supplied by Keith at
seenFloats. We will also be installing "finletts". From the pictures I have
horizontal'sof Beavers the fins seem to start at or slightly forward of the
NYleading edge. On the Moose the front edge of the fin starts back from the
leading edge because of the location of the available slot between the
horizontal and the elevator.
Randy and I have pondered a finletts design that would start some distance
in front of the horizontal's leading edge and continue back as per the
present design. Our goal is to maximize the vertical area and therefore
hopefully the stabilizing effect that the Moose seems to favor.
Comments Welcome.
Regards,
