Bob, with the US dollar going for a shit (or ours gaining ground - which
ever way you look at it) try pricing from both ends. When I do engines
through ATC we are just getting starters through Ron Newburg (Canadian Aero)
in Orillia. Price seems to average out about the same as ordering from US
and in reality Ron's end up coming in from his Niagara Falls retail unit
(Niagara Air Parts) anyhow to avoid the fluctuating dollar. With the change
in the dollar I'm not sure which way would be cheaper right now. Try
Canadian Aero/Niagara Airparts for a firm price including shipping and then
do the same with Aircraft Spruce or one of the many other places they are
available through. Ron's number in Orillia is 800-565-4268/705-326-1368
email is sales@niagaraairparts.com www.niagaraairparts.com

Too many different models of gauges/instruments to give a real opinion on,
but the Electronics International 4 cht/4 egt scanner in FOKM seems to work
nice. Ron used to be a dealer for EI as well, but not sure if he is anymore.
In my personal airplane I have two simple/cheap sweep gauges that I got from
West Coast Electronics in 1994. I have two cylinders hooked to CHT and the
other two hooked to EGT to cover all 4 cylinders and to get an average idea
of what is going on up on the nose.
