The Rebel has emerged as a serious contender on my list of potential
aluminum butchery projects. Trailerability and off-airport storage are
requirements in my selection process (eliminating Vans, etc).

The Rebel literature describes the wing removal process as requiring 45-60
minutes for a two man crew, which would be a tolerable level of effort. I
was wondering if replacing/removing the wings for each flying session
(weekly, maybe?) was within the realm of reason, and if this was a common
practice or a considerable undertaking. Any comments from you
'been-there-done-that' listers would be most appreciated!

Removing the wings on a weekly basis in my opinion would not be a viable
option. It is a considerably big job.

The fuel would have to be drained, fairings removed, fuel pipes and wiring
disconnected, pitot and static lines removed, flaperons disconnected, etc.
Two people may be able to remove the wings in an hour or so, but replacing
them would be a different matter.

I have found I need at least three people to fit my wings back on as it is
very easy to bend the rear wing attach bracket if things dont line up as
planned. Fitting the front wing attach spacer washers can be a bit of a
drama.

I dont think this is an option.

Really neat aircraft though--------!!

It sounds like the other folks agree this is not really a viable aircraft
for
your requirements. You would be better if with a Kitfox or even a Glastar
if
you do not mind the considerable weight and considerable $ penalties.

Did you follow the instructions that I had sent in the attachment? Just
deleting the Happy99 virus attachment will not delete it, you need to
follow the procedures. Let me know if you need the instructions again.

I didn't see the instructions until after I asked how to get rid of it. I
have
since followed the instructions and they worked fine. I tried to forward
you
letter with the attachment of instructions to the list of those I infected
but for
some reason the attachment came through as part of the letter and was just
junk.
How can I forward the instuctions to others?
