M14 Air uses

Bill, you may have something there blowing up Otto Pilot with the air.
Could then throw him in the lake and use Wayne's new motor to putter around
on. I'll have to think about that one as I keep thinking the air could have
more uses...run a gyro?? Wonder if the flow from dump valve would be enough
to run through a small venturi for suction??

There's an idea aye! Keep the engine running and pump up your inflatable
boat from an airchuck on the fuselage! Feel sorry for the guy hanging off
the side of the float, while you taxi in circles around the lake though!!

Doesn't the Yak uses air for a lot of things?

Your right no vacuum on the jets (oh, except the toilets on some..), gyros
are all electric (and most are ring laser with no moving parts).
Pressurization is bleed air from engines.

Maybe no wheels on amphib, just hover craft skirts.

I doubt that there's enough air available to do the venturi thing. I would

Wayne! I'm disappointed. To do such a stunt as having a man hang onto the
float while doing donuts on a lake would be irresponsible! You'd waste gas
and irritate the tree huggers all over the lake. The correct procedure
would be to inflate the boat shortly before touchdown. That way you'd be
ready to attack the bass immediately after touchdown. :) Oh yeah, I
forgot; you 'Northern Exposure' types don't get many bass. That'd be
something like grunion, huh?

I'm thinking about mounting an airhose-reel on the belly.

Don't know much about Yaks. Bet George could shed some light. Close buddy
had a Nanchang and I can tell you that a BUNCH of stuff was pneumatic.
Starter, flaps, brakes, gear retract and maybe more. Interesting thing is
that he absolutely never had any trouble with any of the air systems. Those
things worked perfectly, every time. Any time I ask M14 guys their opinion
about electric starting, the reaction is the same; "why mess with the best
part of the engine!"

As for the hover craft skirts; I like the way you think! THIS is the
spirit of 'experimental aircraft'!

Now there's another great idea, a hose reel! You could use it as a water
skiing line for barefooting.... when the guy falls off the floats while
pumping the boat!!

As for Bass, we have lots up here. The town of Midland even held a
Bassmasters Pro tournament early this fall, that brought guys from as far as
Texas (as I could see by reading license plates on the 75 plus tow rigs
parked on the main drag).
