Elite Oil Canning Corner Wraps Etc., was: Re: Elite cage riv

Hi Al
Are you saying the tri-gear Elite is OK in these areas or not? Do you mean the
tri-gear has heavier (front) corner wraps? It may be that the Elite is beefed
up there regardless of the gear type, I believe Bob has commented to that
effect and that the Rebel now has the same wraps.
When you talk about Sean pulling on the tail stringer (stabilizer?) do you mean
the tail corner wraps oil can?
Did you take any pictures of the reinforcements you have done to the front
footwell area? I would be interested to see what you have done and I expect it
could be applied to the Rebel too. Maybe if you have photos you could put them
in the archive?
Cheers,
Dave R.

corner wraps. Heavier parts are available for the trike version,
Fortunately, the previously enjoyed kit I bough was for a trike, although I
decided not to build it that way. What really brought it home to me was
when Sean White grapped the tail stinger on an amphibian and rocked it up
and down, These corner wraps really oil can, even with external stiffners
added below the forward floor. I have built mine with an inner forward
floor and fore and aft 5/8" square stringers to give the brake pedals more
support. Can't report on any tendancy to oil can until I get the engine
mounted, which will be a while, as I have a set of floats to build first.
