Hi Jean

I believe all 4 ailerons are the same so I think you could always switch
them around and put the end plates on the other end?? However I don't
think it will be a problem with a 1/16" error. The end plates tend to
round off the end of the leading edge a bit for wrapping the fabric
covering around them but I think nothing is critical there and the
fabric will hide minor cosmetic imperfections. If it is only one or two
rivets that are bothering you, sometimes I will file a hole in the
direction I want to go and then use a larger 5/32" rivet as long as
there is enough edge distance. Sometimes there is room to drill new
holes in between the existing holes and not use the old holes. The
fabric would hide the old holes if there is room for that. I'm sure you
want to do a great job but at times I have to remind myself that very
little has to be perfect and perfect takes too long. Structurally sound
yes, but not perfect :) Take another look tomorrow or after a few weeks
and you might decide that what you have is just fine.

I also recall replacing some of the top rivets on the leading edge ribs
with countersunk rivets. About 3 or 4 of the rivets on each rib. That
was to give more clearance to the top wing skin. Sometimes you have to
bend the top wing skin up a bit or trim it back a bit to get clearance
to keep the rivets from catching on the edge. It can be done later but
it is easier now if you think you might want to do that.

I have assembly/cleco/drill/deburre and than reassemble with cleco the
four ailerons spar/leading edge ribs/main aileron rib together. With one
left aileron, the outside leading edge rib (AIL-22L) is a bit (+/-) 1/16"
inside, not flush with the end of the spar! I am not pride of it! The "end
plate (AIL-24)" have to be riveted to that part... is something to do or I
should just order a new leadind edge rib...
Thanks

Hops! I forgot to say how fun it to finally work on it!
