Hello

I am ready to fit the inside corner wrap in the tail cone section. Manual say to fit a corner wrap between bulkhead "C" and "D" an then continu
up to bulkhead "A". That mean half corner wrap between C and D and then a complete one between C and A. Is my understanding OK?

The manual do not say a word about riveting that section... In my logic, I should rivet everything except at A and E bulkhead... is it ok? ( I
know I should probably call the guy who my inspection before close the floor....)

Thanks again

Jean

Hi Jean
I think full lengths or half lengths of corner wrap are fine. Whatever
is easiest. In most places I found that full lengths were easier than
making an extra joint at a bulkhead but I really don't think it matters
back in the tailcone.
I think you are OK to rivet the floor and corner wraps as you work
forward. Others have mentioned putting in the solid aluminum fuel lines
first if you want those below the floor. Just don't put any rubber hose
under the floor. You might want to plan any control pulleys or battery
and ELT mounts that you want back there as well.

Hi Ken, great to see your Rebel on Sunday and yes your Subaru is certainly
very quite and smooth - sounded great when you left.

I can't remember where you picked up your door locks?

Thanks

Thanks Jim
Spaenaur. They have a website I believe. I use the Kitchener location
but there is another one in the N.E. corner of Toronto. I'm sure they
ship out as well.
Their catalog is huge and makes interesting reading. They used to charge
for it but seem to give it away free at the counter now. Unfortunately
they are a bit pricey but often they are the only place that I can get
certain bolts, unusual hardware items, rubber moldings, etc.

Hi Jean
Looks like I'm still just barely ahead of you. ;) I think I recall others
saying to make the floor and corner wraps go all the way back. I used full
length ones between A-C and C-E. I also found it fairly easy to make them
from stock if you need to buy more <a
href="http://mae.ucdavis.edu/ransom/Murphy/09 ... cture).</a>.

Yes, rivet inside corner wraps at each bulkhead. Use lexan as per MAM and
others to be careful to hit the narrow width of the bulkheads <a
href=http://mae.ucdavis.edu/ransom/Murphy/10 ... icture)</a>.

I didn't close (rivet) my inside corner wraps or floor yet because in doing
the next tail area backward (Fus-29 and 30, tail post area), you will need
to drill out from the inside of Bulkhead E. An inside corner wrap there
would prevent that.
Cheers,
-Ben /496R
