Trim tab horn

Hello Ralph ,
Maybe a fix for the Elite people who have not closed the trim skin would
be to add a another rib tail (riblet) as per your solution, about 70mm from
the end riblet and then place on top a doubler of about 70mm x 65 mm
riveting the doubler & the trim skin to the spar, riblet flanges & trim skin at
the following edge, with say three equally spaced rivets around the four
edges; then riveting the trim horn on top of the trim skin & the doubler. As
for the existing Elite/Rebel people a skin doubler on top off the existing
trim skin.

Regards,
Greg Gordon.

Trim tab horn

After 6 years I am finally ahead of the curve once! When we built our
Elite trim tab it looked like too much flexing would occur. One of the
scrap rib "tails" that was cut off to allow for the trim tab was added
in the trim tab under the other "L" shaped trim horn piece. That means
that each horn piece is riveted into an underlying rib. :):):)

This is an economic fix if done as the trim is built.
