PSRU Adapter replies

Thanks everyone for the great information. To answer one question asked by
a couple of people, I am using the CAM-500 helical gear drive PSRU made by
Firewall Forward in BC, Canada. This will mate to my 400+ HP Rodec aluminum
Chevy 350 V8. I asked them the same questions I asked all of you and have
not heard back from them yet. However, I have spoken to Bob Masters at
Firewall Forward and a couple of his customers and have a good deal of
confidence in their product. The two customers I talked to were very happy
with their PSRUs. I will try and recontact them to ask about their
adapters. I know that the gear case is "cut from 6061 T-6 billet stock by a
CNC machine" as quoted from their website. That's why I was surprised to
see a cast adapter to go between the engine and the gear case. From what
you guys have told me, as long as the adapter was properly engineered,
knowing that a casting will be porous, with pin holes and occasional pockets
or voids as mine is, then it should be OK. I do plan to file out the sharp
stress riser areas though. But for $12,000 I don't think a nice adapter
"cut from 6061 T-6 billet stock by a CNC machine" would go astray.
