I'd love to I'm on holidays this week and next but I'm still trying to sort
out the @#$% landing gear hydraulics on my floats. Today I changed all the
lines to DOT aproved plastic lines and fittings. This should take care of
the leaks that were constantly popping up and the lines that kinked from
use. tommorrow I'm going to take apart the check valves in the pump and see
if I can fix them or I'll replace them too. I want to have the system hold
pressure for a long time before I'll be happy with it. I haven't carried a
passenger since about the 1st of June and I'm getting pretty sick of all
these problems

Hi Bob
Wheres the seaforth strip? Or were you at Harvey Dales. Right in my
neighbourhood and couldn't stop at centralia for a visit :(
Drew

Hi Angus !

Glad you're back, and the job went well up there - sounds
like quite a trip !! Hope we'll get to hear it around a campfire
one day soon .... :-)

I'm surprised there was any radar up there to 'paint' your
transponder !! ;-^) :-)

Been having fun with my Rebel lately, too - rested a bit after
the Ramble to the west coast, and Oshkosh. Last couple of days
I've been out to Seaforth, up to Wingham, and down to Stoney Creek -
not quite the same distances, but interesting ! Did an
equivalent-to-annual
on my old 912 Rebel, and ferried it down to Stoney Creek - still
flies great ! I was amazed at how it levitates at such slow speeds,
so.... when I came back to get XWI, I decided to poke the corners
of the envelope a bit more !

Discovered that I can now climb at a steady 46 mph - still
showing 800 fpm, at an absolutely ridiculous climb angle !!!
This is down from the 1,400+ fpm I was showing at 65 mph, but not
too shabby, for a 95 degree (or so) day !! It finally faded
below 45 mph , but your STOL kit has made a great improvement in
the low speed stability and controlability on <my> Rebel ! One
day when I'm feeling really brave, I'll experiment with approaches
and short landings at those kind of speeds - after practicing at
altitude !! Don't know if I'll ever have enough nerve to match
some of the approaches I've seen you do, though !!

Hope you'll have a bit of free time now you're back - maybe
you could be the 2nd Rebel on the Ramble East for at least the
first couple of days !!!! We're leaving Sunday morning, lunch at
Lindsay, then RON at Iroquois,ON - sounds like a neat place, then
next RON in Drummondville, Quebec, for another Ramble Party !!

Hope we see you both soon !!
