For a long time I've been very interested in the 3.3L Subaru engine, but the
one hang up almost everyone has when I talk to them about this engine is
that 320 HP out of a 3.3L engine is just to much power to expect out of an
engine that size. I find it interesting now to see Bombardier come out with
their V300T engine that displaces 189 ci... or 3.096954L.
All the claims and reports are that they built this engine from the ground
up with aviation in mind, and did extensive computer modeling to ensure
reliability. I wonder if as these engines start flying and building hours
if they will successfully change peoples perceptions regarding how much
horse power you can wring out of a modern engine.
